To enhance our facilities and offer an even better experience, Shinhotaka Ropeway has been renovating the Nabedaira Kogen mid-station area around Shirakabadaira Station since last year. In fiscal year 2026, we will be carrying out the following renewal works.
Our goal is to provide deeply moving experiences where you can fully immerse yourself in the power of the Northern Alps and the diverse charms of nature—wonders that can only be truly felt here in this middle area.
Overview of the Renewal
●Footbath Renewal
We are completely renovating the footbath located in front of Shirakabadaira Station! >
The new area will feature two types of footbaths to suit your preference: one offering stunning views of Mt. Shakujo and the Northern Alps, and another designed for groups with shared seating. This allows you to choose the perfect setting for your visit.
This authentic footbath uses 100% natural sulfur spring water. It is being reborn to accommodate more guests, expanding its capacity from 20 to 30 people so that even more visitors can enjoy this relaxing experience. In addition, we plan to sell “Onsen Tamago” (delicious hot spring-boiled eggs) made utilizing the natural warmth of the hot spring water.
●New Plaza Opening
We are creating a new outdoor plaza where you can unwind and relax!
Designed to harmonize with existing trees and stones, this space lets you fully take in the grand nature of Chubu-Sangaku National Park. Here, you can enjoy stunning views of Mt. Kasagatake and Mt. Yakedake, as well as watch our signature double-decker gondolas arrive and depart.
It is also the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy food and drinks purchased from our bakery or shop.
